[Waver knew Law from a few things Law had done back home. Law was well known as a strong mage, but as his background was unknown, he was generally never mentioned. The Surgeon of Death was his title floating around and he was well known for procedures that almost no regular doctor would take on. He had gotten to know, and had gotten close to Waver before he left for the Holy Grail War. Law had no interest in such a ridiculous thing, but he kept in touch with Waver while he was gone.

He had heard how mana transfer had gone, but he didn't expect to see his young friend come back... well...]
